"What a wonderful experience!! 🫶🏾🙌🏾
I have mixed Afro Caribbean/European hair and have been searching for a stylist that gets and understands my hair type. Im originally from the UK where Afro hair salons are in abundance, so once I arrived I was shocked to find that not many actually have real experience with this type of hair. I have tried multiple salons here in Oz that claim to know my hair type when in actual fact they did not and I ended up disappointed as a result and nervous to try yet another stylist.
Kaitlyn’s previous experience working with many different hair types including Afro Caribbean in France was a godsend. 😇
She immediately understood the assignment and more importantly knew how to treat my hair. My treatment involved a root touch up from my greys with a balayage colour (the Parisian) Her methodology is not one size fits all and she goes above and beyond in explaining these methods and that it’s a hair journey rather than a quick fix.
I have gone from just tying my hair back daily and relying on DIY box colours to cover my greys to actually wearing my hair out and embracing my curls, BIG hair and my confidence!!!!"
How to Cut Curly Hair.
Curly Hair Cutting Techniques.
Vidal Sassoon cutting techniques are widely recognised as the "Harvard" of precision design. Kaitlyn combines these techniques along with French haircutting techniques to design a cut and style which is compatible with your lifestyle, how you like to wear your hair, and how you like it to sit. French haircutting embraces your hair's natural movement and enhances your most beautiful features.
Mizutani Precision Scissors.
Kaitlyn is a precision cutter and so only uses Japanese hand-crafted Mizutani scissors that are designed to cut hair in a circular shape without becoming mashed. Poorer quality scissors often cut hair in an oval shape mashing it in the process.
